Present and future of the past

This following picture is a famous one in the U.S. history:

It happened on July 24, 1963 in the Rose Garden of the White House, as the saying goes: the rest is history!

By the way they both occupy certain deserved positions in the history, for better or worse, but neither of them had the need to spent millions of dollars to fight off law suits in the court against people merely wish to see their birth certificate! For an idiot in that position afraid of others seeing his original birth certificate, what's a pity!?

News your news source not reporting

Isn't this UPI picture impressive? It's Iranian students and opposition supporters demonstrate against the Iranian government at Tehran University on December 7, 2009 in Tehran,Iran. The protest was the largest in months. But if you are still count on the drive-by Obabamania media gangs ABC, CBS, NBC, NPR, CNN and the likes for news source you probably will not see this one. Don't ask me why. I wonder about it myself. Those people just have a very curious mind set. For the same token, you probably have not heard that there is a climategate right now. Here's a good summary by Gregory Fegel in Pravda:
The Internet has been abuzz throughout the past week with the news of what everyone is calling ‘Climategate’ -- a major scandal involving leaked emails and data from the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia (UEA). Located in the town of Norwich in the United Kingdom, the Climatic Research Unit is a primary center for the ‘science’ that supports the theory of Global Warming. The CRU provides ‘scientific’ advice and guidance to the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

On November 17th an anonymous whistleblower downloaded email and data files from computers at the Climatic Research Unit and, using a Internet server based in Russia, posted them on a ‘Global Warming skeptic’ website called The Air Vent. Soon thereafter the files were forwarded to numerous other ‘skeptic’ websites and news outlets. The leaked files include more than 1,000 emails and about 3,000 documents, and they provide abundant evidence of falsification of data among the scientists at the forefront of promoting the theory of Global Warming.

. . .

The emails and documents reveal that the scientists at the CRU and their colleagues in the USA not only falsified their data to ‘prove’ Global Warming, they also collaborated to prevent qualified scientists who disagreed with the theory of Global Warming from publishing or participating in the ‘peer reviews’ process. The belief in Global Warming among scientists is not a consensus; it is a dictatorship.
and some sober implications:

‘Climategate’ is not an ordinary case of falsifying data by a few rogue scientists. The fraudulent theory of Global Warming has provided the basis for an international political movement which has the stated goal of completely restructuring the entire global economy based on that fraudulent theory. ‘Global Warming’ is a con game perpetrated by dishonest scientists and the government and corporate leaders who provide the corrupt scientists with opportunities for advancement.

If we fail to stop the further politicization and institutionalization of the fraudulent theory of Global Warming, we will most certainly experience a future of ‘science’ controlled by government decree and of a world government that facilitates the operations of corporate industries while imposing severe restrictions and arbitrary taxes on the general public.

It's gratifying that we can still read articles like this -- even though it is in Pravda. So what?

Salute to the108-year young WWI hero

I like this story from AFP yesterday:

WASHINGTON — America's last surviving World War I veteran came to Congress on Thursday to ask lawmakers to create a memorial to honor his fellows combatants from "The Great War."

"What am I supposed to say? Oh yes -- the memorial, it's an excellent idea!" exclaimed 108-year old Frank Buckles, as camera bulbs flashed to capture the moment.

The wheelchair-bound centenarian, who lives in nearby West Virginia, pleaded his case to lawmakers that the federal city -- with monuments to honor veterans and fallen soldiers who fought in World War II, Vietnam and other conflicts -- needs a symbol to honor veterans of World War I.

Some 100,000 Americans lost their lives in the 1914-1918 First World War, one of the deadliest in history.

108 years young WWI hero asks to honor his comrades, will the politicians ignore him? God Almighty, let's hope and pray they can come to their senses.

According to his daughter that her father "is in good shape." How wonderful! And also these from the news report:

Buckles fought in the war beginning at the age of 16, and later was also a combatant in World War II, when he was captured by the Japanese troops and spent three years in a prison camp.

The US government has awarded him the World War I Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation of Germany Medal, while France bestowed upon him the French legion of honor medal.

Hey Mmm mmm mm Barack Hussein Obama, what have you done for the country lately?

Weak-Kneed in China

Some very good comments on Obama's trip to Commie China by Ralph Nader just published in Counterpunch.org today. Here's how Mr. Nader starts his article:

There was something both sad and strange about President Obama’s weak presence in China last week.

Sad because he arrived with no seeming goals and left empty handed just after visiting the ancient Great Wall, which he said gave him a perspective on time.
Strange because he allowed the Chinese rulers to quarantine his stops from the Chinese people?whether in person or on television. His main public meeting was with young Communist League students who came with scripted questions.

All the outward signs were that Mr. Obama had no cards to play. The U.S. is by far the world’s biggest debtor. It was hard to challenge his Chinese hosts who made crisp mention of our government’s deep deficits and deficit spending. They did not have to describe our weakened economy, its declining dollar and the huge indebtedness that the U.S. has with its Chinese creditors. Everybody knows how rickety America?s global financial situation is.
Nader also quoted the negative comments of David Shambaugh, director of the China Policy Program at George Washington University:
The failures lay in how the president spent his time in China. Not interacting with Chinese people, not giving an uncensored nationally televised speech, not visiting any civic organizations or businesses, not visiting a wind farm or clean-energy firm, not meeting human rights lawyers or activists, and not meeting with the American business or scholarly community must all be counted as failures. He did not send positive signals in these areas?but the Chinese government did not permit it and the American side did not insist on it.
So it is not surprising that Mr. Nader appropriately characterized the Obama trip as "weak-kneed". I don't agree with Nader on a lot of issues. But I have to applaud this article. I am quite certain Nader is on the side of American and American consumers. I must say that I have no idea which side or what side Obama is on. Does anybody know for sure?

New catch phrase in China

「一個黑人,穿一件黑衣,在一個黑夜裡,撐一把黑傘,走進了一個黑色的國家。」

(If I may I would prefer to modify the last sentence 「走進了一個黑色的國家」 to 「走進了一個黑的國家」 to make it more to the point.)

Literal translation:

"A black guy, wearing black, during a black dark night, holding a black umbrella, walked into a dark black totalitarian country."

Message to the leftists in U.S. , do you really think the commies that's ruling the Chinese mainland right now are politically correct? For your information, the first, foremost, and probably the only thing they see in Obama is his skin color!

Flame of Conscience

I came across this article by Prof. Jerome A. Cohen, currently at NYU Law School and formerly of Harvard Law School. Prof. Cohen has a very good Chinese name of 孔傑榮. When he was at Harvard he once mentored a chap by the name of Ying-Jeou Ma who happened to be elected President last year by the people of Taiwan, Republic of China. Regardless his background, his article "Flame of Conscience" is a super objective view that is hard to find nowadays from the Obamania mainstream media anymore. This article is appeared at the Homepagedaily site:

Sunday will mark President Barack Obama’s first visit to China. Will he be stricken by Marco Polo-itis? The Great Wall and the Forbidden City can be mesmerizing. But so too can Obama, especially if allowed to speak freely on Chinese television.

President Obama will have only three days in China and will visit Shanghai and Beijing. He confronts some tough choices, not only between meetings and sightseeing but also in choosing among the unprecedented number of difficult issues on his potential agenda.

Climate change? World financial crisis? Tariff war and currency revaluation? North Korean nuclear weapons? American arms sales to Taiwan? U.S.-China military cooperation? Afghanistan and Iraq pullbacks? Iran and Pakistan dilemmas? No previous Sino-American summit has confronted so many issues. This testifies to China’s increasing prominence. How much room will this week’s agenda have for “human rights”?

After diplomatic relations were normalized in 1979, and especially after the Tiananmen slaughter of June 4, 1989, human rights became an important issue in Sino-American summits.

Yet, until this week’s announcement of nine executions in the Xinjiang region, the Obama administration, contrary to the expectations raised by the president’s election campaign rhetoric, demonstrated little interest in stimulating the People’s Republic to abide by its international human rights commitments, such as the UN Convention Against Torture.

Nor has it applied public pressure for China to take on new commitments, such as the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which Beijing signed in 1998 but has not ratified. To be sure, many agenda items involve human rights of one kind or another. The rights to a habitable environment, a decent job and protection against nuclear extermination are universal.

The lives of tens of millions in the Near and Middle East can be affected by other decisions reached next week. And Taiwan’s free society has a huge stake in any cross-strait military arrangements.

Yet none of those items addresses “human rights” in the sense of the political and civil rights of 1.3 billion Chinese. During the past three years, the Communist dictatorship on the Mainland has again tightened restrictions on its own citizens’ most basic freedoms of expression–speech, publication, assembly, organization and religion.

Those who challenge these restrictions have been arbitrarily and harshly punished through a comprehensive array of informal, administrative and criminal sanctions.

The cruelty to which many courageous people have been subjected for attempting to experiment with democracy, implement a genuine rule of law or practice their religion is unworthy of a government that has made great social and economic progress in recent years.

Despite such progress, the regime is facing a rising tide of popular protests against a broad range of grievances in many areas, not only Tibet and Xinjiang. Instead of establishing democratic institutions to provide satisfactory outlets for processing these grievances, Beijing’s response is unremitting repression. Rights defenders and lawyers who seek to utilize existing weak legal institutions are themselves often harassed, beaten, deprived of their livelihood, detained and prosecuted.

Many of them who fall ill in prison are denied necessary medical care in an apparent effort to permanently incapacitate them and deter others. Probably millions of Chinese hope that Obama will condemn such abuses and press their leaders for reforms. Obama’s bargaining position is not very strong. Not only does he need Chinese cooperation on many problems, but he also represents a government that has itself been a deserving target for human rights criticisms.

The invasion of Iraq and the disgraces at Guantanamo and Abu Graib symbolize America’s most shameful international misconduct in decades. Moreover, Obama has been disappointingly slow in undoing some of his predecessor’s worst civil liberties violations at home as well as abroad. Will the able team recently assembled by Obama and Secretary of State Clinton persuade their Chinese counterparts to undertake systemic reform and cooperate in some substantial human rights initiatives?

It won’t be easy, even if Obama and Clinton decide to press harder than they have to date.

Bland Washington statements and a private talk with China’s President Hu Jintao are unlikely to bring transparency and fair trials to Chinese justice.

There is a conservative climate among Beijing’s leaders, and, with the aid of Cuba, Sudan, Egypt and other massive human rights violators, their diplomats at the UN are now adept at fending off foreign censure and suggestions. Reflecting China’s heightened influence, the country’s new nationalism and America’s own human rights vulnerability, the leadership has apparently decided to tough it out, while throwing the U.S. a face-saving bone or two.

Renewal of the largely ineffectual, on-again, off-again official bilateral “dialogues” that China uses to placate foreign democracies will not impress increasingly skeptical American human rights NGOs.

Nor will a return to the regime’s old trick of releasing a few high profile activists from confinement, while quietly locking up more. A stirring speech to the Chinese people and a serious meeting with dissidents would at least demonstrate Obama’s sincerity, but are not scheduled.

So will the young president return home with much to show human rights supporters?

Prof. Cohen ends his article with a rhetorical question. I am very certain that he knows the answer. Let me spell out the answer now: No, no no! Nein, Nyet, Niente. Obama ain't go there to worry about human rights mumble jumbles. He would wish to learn more on how to deal with his political enemies. He'll be basically capitulating. Just hope he does not do another wow bow to Hu Jintao again.

See Obama, see Obama bow low, mmm mmm mm!

Did you see that? Mmm mmm mm! Bow low is obviously Obama's specialty by now. This time to the Emperior Akihoto of Japan. This Los Angeles Times article this morning asks "How low will he go?" and calls it a "wow bow" completes with videos and pictures. Please go read the article. I suspect that it might be there for too long.

For comparison here's how former U.S. Vice President show his respect:

And of course here's also a picture of General Douglas MacArthur with Akihito's father Hirohito.

It was General MacArthur who decided to allow Japan to keep its emperior as a" ceremonial unifying institution within a nascent democracy" as this LA Times article recalls the history.

Well I said it's Obama's specialty to bow low, objections? Here's an previous bow:

Now that's "wow bow" Obama, Mmm mmm mm!

Veterans Day 2009

Fox News has a good historical background about the day today, the Veterans Day:

For 90 years, the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month has been a remembrance of those who served America in a time of war.

But the Nov. 11 Veterans Day commemoration began as a day to celebrate peace — the silencing of the guns of World War I, "The Great War," which claimed the lives of more than 15 million soldiers and civilians.

On that day in 1918, at the 11th hour, Germany signed an armistice with the Allied Powers — including the U.S., France, Britain, Japan and Italy — ending major hostilities in a war that nearly wiped out a generation of men.

A full peace was concluded the next year in France at the Palace of Versailles, and the first Armistice Day was proclaimed and celebrated by President Woodrow Wilson on the anniversary of the ceasefire: Nov. 11, 1919.

It was fully established by Congress as a legal holiday in 1938.

But Armistice Day honored veterans of only World War I, essentially ignoring millions of soldiers who served in peacetime or fought in World War II, Korea and other engagements.

So in 1954 Congress extended the holiday to honor all vets, giving it the name Veterans Day, which it has kept for 55 years.

Today, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are some 23.2 million veterans in the United States. That includes 2.6 million who served during World War II, 2.8 million who served in the Korean War, 7.8 million in the Vietnam War, 5.2 million in the Gulf War and about 1.7 million who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Nearly 120,000 are still stationed in Iraq, and about 68,000 will be deployed in Afghanistan by the end of the year, according to the Census.

Just one American veteran who served in World War I is still alive: 108-year-old Frank Buckles, who drove ambulances in England and France after enlisting at the age of 16. Buckles also fought in World War II and was taken prisoner by the Japanese.
God Bless America!

A craven dodges the center stage for freedom

I just read this great commentary in telegram.com of Worcester, Massachusetts. The non-authored article is entitled "Obama's absence" with a byline "Berlin is center stage for freedom." Yes, I have heard that Obama will not be in Berlin to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the torn down of the Berlin wall. But this article really pointed out all the significance of this event and why it is so regrettable that the President of the United States should choose to be chickened out from the historical celebration. Here's the article in full:
Modern history holds fewer dates with greater significance than Nov. 9, 1989, the day the Berlin Wall fell, signaling the beginning of the end to the Cold War, and the political, social and economic liberation of millions who had lived behind the Iron Curtain since the close of World War II.

Monday’s 20th anniversary will be a celebration not only for Germany — now reunified for a generation — but for all the nations and peoples who were able to put fears and divisions in the past and look to a more hopeful future. Berlin has been center stage in that process, and U.S. presidents have played vital roles upon that stage. Harry Truman’s approval of the Berlin Airlift of 1948-49 saved lives; John F. Kennedy’s 1963 speech in West Berlin declaring “I am a Berliner” gave hope to a city newly divided; and Ronald Reagan’s June 1987 challenge to Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev to “Tear down this wall!” stands as one of the watershed moments of Cold War history.

It is regrettable that President Barack Obama has declined German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s invitation to attend Monday’s festivities at Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate. Germany and the U.S., one-time bitter enemies, are now partners and friends. Mr. Obama’s absence won’t change that fact, but his presence at the head of the U.S. delegation would have been an eloquent reaffirmation of our nation’s commitment to freedom, and a fitting tribute to those who died trying to escape oppression during the wall’s 28-year history.

Surely, a president who could find time to go to Copenhagen to lobby on behalf of Chicago’s bid for the Olympics could have found time to go to Berlin, epicenter for the political earthquakes of 1989 that marked a new birth of freedom for Europe and the world.
Mmmm mmmm mmm, only a lame duck will chickened out from the center stage for freedom. Now we have an unmitigated evidence!

P.S.

In the readers comments to this article, a reader by the name "factsplz" made another good point: "how could Obama possibly appear at an event that highlights how great America is? America's greatness is NOT in his game plan."

P.P.S.

Now here's a totally different but equally valid view from a completely different viewpoint by Ellis Washington of WorldNetDaily that suggests why Obama can't go to Berlin. Mr. Washington has a lot to say. Here are the parts I like the most:

On Nov. 9, 1989, the torch of liberty was lit for more than a billion people (one-third of the world's population) when they started their path toward freedom with the fall of the Berlin Wall; a seemingly impregnable symbol of imprisonment that Khrushchev erected in 1961 to stop the exodus of East German citizens fleeing the slavery of communism for the freedom and liberty of democracy in West Germany.

Twenty years later, President Obama, as the anti-Reagan, is trying to rebuild the Berlin Wall brick by brick with fascist policies designed to undermine freedom of all Americas and the liberties of those people around the world yearning for a republic founded on the rule of law. Obama wants to place those same shackles Stalin put on the Soviet-bloc countries on America with his socialist health-care bill, which, if passed, would place government in our lives from cradle

to grave.

Washington Times Editorial has the same idea:
Some have criticized President Obama for not visiting Berlin to commemorate this historic moment, but he made the right choice. When Sen. Barack Obama wanted to speak at the venue during the 2008 presidential campaign, German Chancellor Angela Merkel thought the request "a bit odd." It still is. Mr. Obama was on the other side of the policy divide during the Reagan years, and if his party had remained in power, we have no doubt the Soviet Union would have lasted longer as a going concern. Mr. Obama should not attempt to associate himself with that historic moment, when a man with vision had the ability to see the future and the courage to realize it.
So he made the right choice to stay away all right. He can't possibily in the same league with Truman, Kennedy, and Reagan anyway. He is probably not a craven. He is just hoping to be a despot! Please, please God help America!

P. P. P. S.

Well, the whole world is joyfully commemorating the historical moment. Here we see in Taipei, Taiwan, the Republic of China, they are preparing to celebrate freedom and liberty from communist tyranny by unveiling a small section of the Berlin Wall that was given to the democratic government of Taiwan.

Let us pray!

On this first Sunday after the terrible Ft. Hood massacre, this blog joins Lucianne.com to offer "Our prayers and thoughts to the family and friends of those murdered at Ft. Hood, Texas."

God bless America!

And let us salute and pray for the true American heroine, Sgt. Kimberly Munley, she shot the terrorist thug four times, even after being hit by a bullet that passed both her legs as reported by U.K. Times online. Yes, how sad, we have to read a U.K. news about the the heroic act of Sgt. Munley:

Her swift reaction and courage were being praised last night for preventing many more deaths.

“It was an amazing and aggressive performance by this police officer,” said Lieutenant-General Robert Cone, Fort Hood’s commanding officer. “The critical factor here was her quick response to the situation.”

God bless America! God bless Sgt. Kimberly Munley and for her total recovery!

'What side of history do you want to be on?'

Listen to Congressman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin:

Hat tip: The Corner on National Review.

The week that was!

Here's a superb commentary by Robert A. George of Ragged Thots summarizing the historical happenings surrounding the Obama Den this week -- not even to mention the double digit 10.2 percent for the nation's October unemployment rate that was announced yesterday:

Democrats worried about this week's off-year elections on Tuesday might have reason to go into full-fledged panic after Thursday.

The "spin" over the exact reasons why Republicans won governors' races in New Jersey and Virginia can go on for quite some time. Democrats can claim that these were about local concerns. Republicans can say that it was the beginning of voters rejecting President Obama and the Democrats "big-government" agenda -- especially the push to reform health care.

There's some rhetorical points to be made on both sides.

Yesterday, however, stark reality of a very different sort intruded: News broke out of the shooting at the Fort Hood Army post in Texas. Soon enough, the full impact of the horror became evident: 13 dead, another 30 injured. The full details and investigation of the shooting -- evidently by a base Army officer -- will become clear in the days ahead.

It's President Obama's reaction to it that is disturbing. Networks reported that the White House had been notified of the early afternoon shooting. By late afternoon, word went out that the president would speak about the incident prior to a previously scheduled appearance. At about 5 PM, cable stations went to the president. But, instead of what might have been expected -- a somber chief executive offering reassuring words and expressions of sympathy and compassion -- viewers saw a wildly disconnected and, inappropriately "light" president making introductory remarks. At a Tribal Nations Conference hosted by the Department of Interior's Bureau of Indian affairs, the president thanked various staffers and offered a "shout-out" to "Dr. Joe Medicine Crow -- that Congressional Medal of Honor winner." The president eventually spoke about the shooting -- in measured and appropriate terms, but how could anyone have advised him to begin in this manner?

Anyone at home aware of the major news story of the previous hours -- and that meant everyone watching given that this appearance by the president would not normally have been covered by the networks -- had to have been stunned. An incident like this requires a scrapping of the early "light" rhetoric. The president should just come out and apologize for the tone of his remarks, but then explain what has happened, express sympathy for those slain -- and appeal for calm and patience until all the facts are in. That's the least that should occur.

Indeed, an argument could be made that Obama should have canceled the Indian event, out of respect for people having been murdered at an Army post a few hours before. That would have prevented any sort of jarring emotional switch at the event.

Did the president's scheduling/communications/political team not realize what sort of image they were presenting to the country at this moment? The disconnect between what Americans at home knew had been going on -- and the initial words coming out of their president's mouth was jolting, if not emotionally disturbing.

It must have been horrifying for many politically aware Democrats, still reeling from the election two days before. The New Jersey gubernatorial vote had already demonstrated that the president and his political team couldn't produce a winning outcome in a state very friendly to Democrats (and where the president won by 15 points one year ago). And now this? Congressional Democrats must wonder if a White House that has burdened them with a too-heavy policy agenda over the last year has a strong enough political operation to help push that agenda through.

If the president's communications apparatus can't inform -- and protect -- their boss during tense moments when the country needs to see a focused commander-in-chief and a compassionate head of state, it has disastrous consequences for that president's party and supporters.

All the president's men (and women) fell down on the job Thursday. And Democrats across the country have real reason to panic.

Calling a spade a spade!

One of the drawbacks of the internet is that from the vast and rich source of information available to me, it constantly reminds me of my ignorance, even though I am being constantly educated. A case in point, I just learned about the Philadelphia's Family Newspaper, The Bulletin and one of their opinion writers, Herb Denenberg. In the commentary by Mr. Denenberg this morning, a long article, there is this:
Don’t kid yourself. America, as we know it, America, as conceived by the Founding Fathers, is under attack by Obama, the Democratic Congress, and the Obama Administration. He has to be stopped if America is to be saved. The great columnist Thomas Sowell is right when he said that it’s time to stop weighing the evidence, and start stopping Mr. Obama as his anti-American programs and values are crystal clear to anyone paying attention. This will require an organized uprising of citizens to stop his programs, especially the most dangerous and damaging ones such as ObamaCare and Cap and Trade. The time for action is right now, and any delay may be fatal to the survival of the greatest nation in the history of the world. We better hear “freedom’s call” and answer it now in its defense in every legal and appropriate way. Or we may be well on the way to becoming a broken down banana republic, a European socialist-style state or worse. There is a war going on against America values, and we better fight back in full force or we will lose that war and will lose America.
What a wonderfully brilliant writing that all Americans should read and re-read again to be aware on what really is going on in our country. In the article Denenberg clearly and documented in details why he calls Barack Hussein "Mm Mm Mm" Obama liar, phony and hypocrite, socialist, and fascist. For Mr. Denenberg that's simply telling like it is, calling a spade a spade and a phony a phony. So refreshing! Please read the whole article and also this one, you will be enlightened!

Can't handle the truth!

Here's an interesting news tidbit about what had really happened at the annual meeting of the Society of Environmental Journalists, but none of those "journalists" would report it. Now John Kinsellagh of trueslant.com reports:

Over the years, Al Gore has consistently refused to take questions from the audience after giving one of his alarmist global warming speeches. Last weekend, at the annual meeting of the Society of Environmental Journalists in Madison, Wisconsin, Gore broke with tradition, perhaps because the audience was comprised of true believers. But, unknown to Gore, in the audience was Irish filmmaker Phelim McAleer, who asked Gore about a 2007 finding by a British judge that “An Inconvenient Truth” is rife with scientific errors.

When McAleer asked Gore what he was doing to correct the errors Justice Burton identified, a stammering Gore, responded by saying, “the ruling was in favor of showing the movie in schools.” Gore’s response was highly misleading and evasive. Justice Burton ruled that an “Inconvenient Truth” could be shown in classrooms but only if his “one-sided” views were balanced.

When McAleer attempted to press Gore on his outright evasion, the Society cut off his microphone and escorted him away. It is evident that for this group of journalists, speaking truth to power is merely a quaint phrase from a bygone era that predates the rise of agenda journalism. After all, silencing those with opposing views is a small price to pay for saving the planet.

Read the full article here, entitled "Eco-Messiah Al Gore and his global warming flock can't handle the truth." Can you hear that ringing voice of Jack Nicholson shouting at Algore types "You can't handle the truth!"

Of course they can not! Algore can only hide behind the mob rule of his flocks -- can not handle any objective discussion, let alone a scientific debate. The same idiocy goes to Barack Hussein Obama, who can't even face the truth about himself so much that he has to coverup everything about himself -- not even a straight verfiable answer on where he was born.

They can fool and ruin the country and the world temporarily. The country and the world will recover. But they will be the pitiful idiotic jokers in the history forever!

Obama fails to win Nobel prize in economics

There are tens of millions of visitors to Drudge Report daily. There must be reasons for that other than it's not New York Times. Well, for me, I visit it ever so often really to see what's going on in the country and world today. Today Drudge Report opens with this picture:

and the headline "Kiss the Dollar Goodbye" that really tells what's going on. Americans can immediately realizing what kind of problem our dollar is facing as this Breitbart analysis provides. That's not even the economics headline of the day. I think the economics headline of the day goes to this MarketWatch article entitled: "Obama fails to win Nobel prize in economics."

Yes, it's another day another Nobel prize announcement. The 2009 Nobel prize in economics goes to: Who? Who cares? But this MarketWatch article gives a hilarious comment and analysis by Tom Bemis that is too good not to read it first and foremost:

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- In a decision as shocking as Friday's surprise peace prize win, President Obama failed to win the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences Monday.

While few observers think Obama has done anything for world peace in the nearly nine months he's been in office, the same clearly can't be said for economics.

The president has worked tirelessly since even before his inauguration to wrest control of the U.S. economy from failed free markets, and the evil CEOs who profit from them, and to turn it over to wise, fair and benevolent bureaucrats.

From his $787 billion stimulus package, to the cap and tax bill, to the seizures of General Motors and Chrysler, to the un-dead healthcare "reform" act, Obama has dominated the U.S., and therefore the global, economy as few figures have in recent years.

Yet the Nobel panel chose instead to award the prize to two obscure academics, -- Elinor Ostrom and Oliver Williamson -- one noted for her work on managing collective resources, and the other for his work on transaction costs.
That Obama picture on Drudge Report today will do well also to go with this article. Read it, it will really make your day!

P.S.

Posting the picture of Obama led me to another thought, there are all kinds of pictures of Obama in the media, but is there one that is most characteristic of his personality? Of course, this will be something really in the eyes of the beholder. With admitted unbashful personal bias notwithstanding, I nominate the following :
