Consequences of 60 years tyranny

What consequences to Chinese people upon suffering through 60 years tyranny? I think some of the best answers can be found in this Forum and, in particular, the following reflections by writer Sheng Xue, a native of Beijing presently residing in Edmonton, Canada:
Prior to the CCP era, Chinese people had values that shaped their actions and kept society upright.

But after 1949, a fundamental change occurred, namely Chinese people no longer can protect their personal dignity. ... The series of political movements—the ‘Three Antis and Five Antis’ movement, the anti-rightist movement, and the Cultural Revolution—all target Chinese people’s dignity, self-respect, and spirit. After all these that have occurred, Chinese people were forced to give up their dignity in order to live.
For the last 60 years the one billion Chinese people on the mainland has been deprived of the basic values that everyone else in the world universally agrees upon, such as democracy, freedom, rule of law, and human rights.

So to put bluntly, under the Commie regime Chinese people have lost their ability to judge. The Commie regime has twisted the dignity of the mainland Chinese people.
It blocks every possibility of you becoming a good person. That’s why nowadays, you can just go on any Web sites that are not official to the Chinese regime, and you would see new reports of crimes, abductions, and murders almost every minute.

That is why modern China has become the least suitable place for civilized people to live in human history.
Additionally I think these quotes from the Epoch Times Commentaries VI is germane here:

Since attaining power in 1949, the CCP has devoted the nation’s resources to destroying China’s traditional culture. This ill intention did not come from the CCP’s zeal for industrialization, nor from simple foolishness in worshipping Western civilization. Rather, it came from the CCP’s inherent ideological opposition to traditional Chinese culture. Thus, the CCP’s destruction of Chinese culture has been planned, well organized, and systematic, supported by the state’s use of violence. Since its establishment, the CCP has never stopped “revolutionizing” Chinese culture in the attempt to destroy its spirit completely.

Even more despicable than the CCP’s destruction of traditional culture is its intentional misuse and underhanded modification of traditional culture. The CCP has highlighted the vile parts from China’s history, things that occurred whenever people diverged from traditional values, such as internal strife for power within the royal family, the use of tactics and conspiracy, and the exercise of dictatorship and despotism. It has used these historical examples to help create the CCP’s own set of moral standards, ways of thinking, and system of discourse. In doing so, the CCP has given the false impression that the “Party culture” is actually a continuation of traditional Chinese culture. The CCP has even taken advantage of the aversion some people have for the “Party culture” to incite further abandonment of the authentic Chinese tradition.

The CCP’s destruction of traditional culture has brought disastrous consequences to China. Not only have people lost their moral bearings, they have also been forcibly indoctrinated with the CCP’s evil theories.

And according to the estimate made five years ago, the Chinese commie regime has brutally killed 80 million innocent Chinese people since usurped the mainland China in 1949 to consolidate their power and for the ideeological "dictatorship and proletariat".

Here's just one case 20 years ago that had gotten out so the world can see:

And of course everybody remembers this one:

What I don't understand is: Why would Obama with his supposedly high intelligence could still be so goo-goo ga-ga about this bloody regime?

Yea, don't we all!

Political Cartoons by Steve Kelley

Obama loves commie that controls the mainland China

In a few days the commie regime will celebrate its 60th year of usurp the mainland of China. One billion people suffered under the commie tyranny for 60 long years! What did Obama do? He raised the bloody commie flag over the White House:

How do you feel about it, America?

On that hoopla day of the commie regime, they will have major military parades to show off their troops and power. I am sure Barack Hussein Obama and his follow koolaid drinkers will be impressed overwhelmingly. Before you might ooo and aaa when you see those parades on your state run Obamanian TV reports, I hope you can be informed how those poor soldiers were trained to be the human robots you see.

To keep the head exactly straight upright, they put pins on their neck:

And here's how to keep everyone in line. It's all computer controlled, anyone makes a slight wrong movement, the alarm will ring.

Have you ever even dreamed possible of this kind of inhuman training for just propaganda purpose? Stay tuned. Pictures are from New Tang Dynasty Television. Here's the latest ntstv news.

Mmm, mmm, mm! Obama indoctrination.

Again, I have seen portions of this video on the internet. All I have heard was these nice kids sing something. Now this video added the words for me that makes very clear what was going on. It is frightening. Can't believe it's happening in the United State of America in 2009. God have mercy on us!

Obama, Acorn, etc.

Don't let the title of this video deter you, this is a very good video. I have heard them here and there on the internet. But this one is all you need to start getting the whole picture. Please watch! It is happening out there, it's time for you to truly get informed.

A penny story

I received an email from an old friend that attached the following story:

You always hear the usual stories of pennies on the sidewalk being good luck, gifts from angels, etc.. This is the first time I've ever heard this twist on the story. Gives you something to think about..

Several years ago, a friend of mine and her husband were invited to spend the weekend at the home of her husband's employer.

My friend, Arlene, was nervous about the weekend. The boss was very wealthy, with a fine home on the waterway, and cars costing more than her house.

The first day and evening went well, and Arlene was delighted to have this rare glimpse into how the very wealthy live. Her husband's employer was quite generous as a host, and took them to the finest restaurants. Arlene knew she would never have the opportunity to indulge in this kind of extravagance again, so was enjoying herself immensely.

As the three of them were about to enter an exclusive restaurant one evening, the boss was walking slightly ahead of Arlene and her husband..

He stopped suddenly, looking down on the pavement for a long, silent moment.

Arlene wondered if she was supposed to pass him. There was nothing on the ground except a single darkened penny that someone had dropped, and a few cigarette butts. Still silent, the man reached down and picked up the penny...
He held it up and smiled, then put it in his pocket as if he had found a great treasure.

How absurd! What need did this man have for a single penny? Why would he even take the time to stop and pick it up?

Throughout dinner, the entire scene nagged at her. Finally, she could stand it no longer. She casually mentioned that her daughter once had a coin collection, and asked if the penny he had found had been of some value.

A smile crept across the man's face as he reached into his pocket for the penny and held it out for her to see. She had seen many pennies before! What was the point of this?

"Look at it," he said. "Read what it says."

She read the words, " United States of America ."

"No, not that.. Read further."

"One cent?"

"No, keep reading."

"In God we Trust?"

"And?. . ."

"And if I trust in God, the name of God is holy, even on a coin.. Whenever I find a coin, I see that inscription.. It is written on every single United States coin, but we never seem to notice it! God drops a message right in front of me telling me to trust Him. Who am I to pass it by? When I see a coin, I pray. I stop to see if my trust IS in God at that moment. I pick the coin up as a response to God; that I do trust in Him. For a short time, at least, I cherish it as if it were gold. I think it is God's way of starting a conversation with me. Lucky for me, God is patient and pennies are plentiful!"

When I was out shopping today, I found a penny on the sidewalk. I stopped and picked it up, and realized that I had been worrying and fretting in my mind about things I cannot change. I read the words, "In God We Trust," and had to laugh. "Yes, God, I get the message!"

It seems that I have been finding an inordinate number of pennies in the last few months, but then, pennies are plentiful! And, God is patient.
It is a very nice story. Not exactly predictable if you have not read or heard it before like I was. I like the ring to it. The email writer asks each receiver to forward the email to seven other people. Obviously that's how I received this one. I appreciate to be on my old friend's email list. But I have never been in my life to be the one who carries on chain letters or emails. Still I like the story so I post it on this blog instead. I hope there might be seven people reading this. In the long run, some one will somehow stumble into this one -- theory of probability dictates it. Otherwise I'll read it again 7 times.

Now here's a picture of a penny from here. There's the "In God we trust" over President Lincoln's head. The story teller neglected to mention the other most important word in our life, right there over Lincoln's shoulder: "Liberty!" Yes, liberty, that's another important reason we should not be allowing the penny be trampled on at any rate. Don't let our liberty be taken for granted. Defend it! Your life and happiness depend on it!

Insulting Mickey

A note from Anchoress

Now for something different still, I came across this gem from the Anchoress blog:

I took a snapshot, please click on it to read the real thing. I used to do yearly retreat when I was a young lad in Taiwan. That was at least half a century ago. Usually for a three day retreat, the second day is reserved for contemplating death. For someone just fresh out of college, that's not an easy thing to do. Now as a retired septuagenarian, thinking about meeting God face-to-face really taking on deeper meanings. To me it's less of a moment of grace, but more of a matter of facing judgment -- that's rather frightening. And indeed it can come any day, any time, any moment. Am I ready? Hardly! But it's time to prepare for it now.

This game 30 years ago

Something other than boooring politics today. Autumn Saturdays are, of course, college football days. My daughter Tina sent me this email today:
One of my friends on Facebook (who I went to Jr. High and High School with) is the sports writer for Michigan Public Radio. He posted that 30 years ago today, Bob Ufer delivered the best Michigan play ever heard. I remember it because I was there. Michigan was playing Indiana. The game was tied, and Michigan's final drive wasn't looking too promising. Then in the last 7 seconds of the game, John Wangler threw a great pass to Anthony Carter who then ran into the end zone for a touchdown. I was working the concession stand at the stadium that day, so I didn't get to see that play until the replays on TV later. However, I remember the tremendous ROAR of the crowd. It was something to remember, to be sure! Anyhow, I found this home movie on YouTube that has Bob Ufer's broadcast through the entire Michigan drive. Pretty amazing stuff. I thought you'd appreciate it! Enjoy!

I almost not remembering that day. But I was home watching the game on TV while listening to Bob Ufer on the radio. Ah! That good old memorable day, that winning Anthony Carter touchdown, and Ufer's play by play -- that familiar memorable voice only true blue Michigan fans can love. If I remember correctly Tina got Ufer's autograph that day also.

Well, 30 years, Bob Ufer had been long gone. Coach Bo Schembechler is no longer with us either. After Michigan's disappointing 3-9 season lase year, I did not even bothered to watch or listen to the game today. But Michigan did managed to comeback twice from behind in the second half to beat Indiana again. The young freshman quarterback was playing with an injured shoulder when he thrown the winning touchdown. None of the kids on the field today were born when Anthony Carter score the last minute winning touchdown 30 years ago. But they proudly carrying on the Victors glory. Michigan is 4-0 right now. Go Blue!

For some further nostalgia, here's another perspective of that game 30 years ago:

The darkness has come!

What's happening to the country? No one puts it better and more accurately described what's happening than Judi Mcleod of
An American president in office less than nine months delivered the United States of America over to control of the United Nations today. In his brutal betrayal, there were no shots fired, insults to his own country from the silver tongue of Barack Obama.

Not since Judas Iscariot sold out the real Messiah for 30 pieces of silver has a betrayal been so piercing to the human heart.

The article is a must-read for any real American. Mcleod concluded with this:
Passing himself off as a saviour of the poor and the black, his own relatives still live in huts with water delivered by donkey.

For all of those who voted for Obama thinking he would ease the poverty of their lives, you have now been rendered a “global citizen” by nothing more than a smooth talking, power-tripping politician.

America you were badly betrayed by your own president today. But this is not the time to weep. It is the time to reclaim your country.

The darkness has come.

Sadly she's right on, the darkness has come! Is this the "change" your have in mind when you cast your vote? It's time to wake up now. Wake up, please!

Sunday, September 20, 2009

Yes, he can!

That's the change you have voted!

Yes, that's real heroic -- attack the defenseless.

Hey that's his father's dream come true!

Wake up and see the big picture!

This is no joke, Time Magazine called Glenn Beck mad. Is Glenn Beck mad? Glenn Beck gave us the answer yesterday. He gave the big picture that Americans need to see but the Obamanian people have been trying so hard to hide from We the American people. If you love America, you have no excuse not to see this video and read the transcript:

Do you know what's really going on in Washington? Wake up, America! Don't let the thugs stealing your country in front of your eye. See the big picture!

Crisis, crisis, another czar needed

Emma meets the Pope

Here's a heartwarming story with a small picture that may surprise you. The title of this NCregister story is "Emma Warson Meets her Pope."

Here's the story according to NCRegister:

Nearly aborted, Emma was born with mosaic Turner syndrome and hypoplastic left heart syndrome and has undergone five open-heart surgeries for palliation of her congenital heart condition. She has wanted to meet the Pope since age 3.

Originally scheduled to meet the Pope in February, that trip had to be canceled because Emma had to be hospitalized for intestinal bleeding. The trip was made possible through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which granted 13,425 wishes to children last year.

This time around, she almost missed seeing the Pope for two different reasons. First, only three weeks before the trip, she was hospitalized with pancreatitis. Then, on the morning of the general audience, the Watson family couldn’t find the Make-A-Wish volunteers in the plaza.

Eventually, they found one another, and the Watsons were rushed in and seated for the general audience just minutes before it began. Emma and her mother, Patti, were given front-row seats.

“Mom was looking the other way when the Pope came out,” said Emma. “I was in awe, and I started crying.”

“She kept saying, ‘It’s the Pope. That’s the Pope,’” said Emma’s mother, Patti.

After the audience, Emma and her mother were brought to greet the Pope.

The Holy Father blessed Emma “in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit,” and then put his hands on Emma’s shoulders.

“He asked us where we were from,” said Patti. “I said the U.S., and then we were ushered aside.”

Normally quite talkative, Patti said that Emma was “speechless for the first time in her life.”

Emma said that when she looked into the Pope’s eyes she saw “happiness.”

All the best and happiness to Emma!

Another must-watch video

Here's another must-read and must-watch. With or without apology to my other favorites Rush or Sean or Mark, they are all great, but Glenn is the real timely thing with no gloves on in town!

The paradigm is changing

I have been away for a few day to attend a meeting in a place where surfing the internet costs one Euro for 12 minutes, just as you get the site you wish to read, a message comes on to tell you that you have 5 minutes left. Needless to say I did not interneting much for the last few days.

Anyway now that I am back, where do I re-start my interneting? Well I was lucky to made an absolutely correct start -- to start with this:

I don't know what else I have missed, this is certainly a good start. It's more than just a good start, it's a "must watch" for Americans. Full transcript here. Go for it!

A Prayer

Prayer for our Nation’s Health Care Reform

Lord Jesus, you are the Divine Physician,
And the source of all life and health.

Guide our nation at this critical moment,
As our government seeks health care reforms.

Give our elected officials the humility to know
That they are servants, not masters.
Give them the wisdom to realize
That every life has equal value.
Give them the strength to resist the idea
That some lives can be sacrificed to save others
Or that killing the unborn is a part of health care.

Give your people the courage to speak up
And to hold public officials accountable for their actions.

Save us, Lord Jesus, from a culture of death,
And let every reform in our public policy
Be based on the reform of our hearts and minds
In the light of your Gospel,
For you are Lord forever and ever.

Flag of the Republic of China

There's news about hoisting the Chinese flag at the White House. Just in case that your mind might be contaminated by undue propaganda, I wish to impress on you what is the flag of the Republic of China looks like:

Yes! This is the official national flag of the Republic of China. The 中華民國國旗 ( 青天, 白日, 滿地紅 i.e. On the blue sky, the bright white sun, shines over warmly red motherland! ) How beautiful it is! -- Almost as beautiful as our Star Spangled Banner!

Don't let anybody tells you otherwise, the Republic of China is the Chinese country founded on October 10, 1911, after the Chinese patriots, led by Dr. Sun Yat-sen, finally overthrown the Imperialism of Ching Dynasty. The Republic of China is also an alien with U.S. and U.K. fighting the Japanese during the WW II. Here's a historical picture took at at the Cairo Conference in 1943 during World War II:

Chinese who grown up during the war like me have all been very familiar with this picture during the Cairo summit in 1943. Since came to U.S. however I noticed unmistakably that Chiang Kai-shek was conspicuously missing from most of the historical reports. I appreciate that Wikipedia preserved this picture to set record straight!

Back to the flag of the Republic of China, you can always see the overseas Chinese fly this flag proudly. For instance in San Francisco:

and at the recent Little Leaque Baseball game in Williamsburg:

Even non Chinese like the flag:

God bless the Republic of China! (天佑中華民國 !)

God bless America!

The vanquished messiah

"Obama, the Mortal" was the title WaPo's editor given to the article by Dr. Charles Krauthammer yesterday. Krauthammer, the power house Washington insider, columnist, and commentator, starts his article by asking these questions:
What happened to President Obama? His wax wings having melted, he is the man who fell to earth. What happened to bring his popularity down further than that of any new president in polling history save Gerald Ford (post-Nixon pardon)?
Yea, inquiring minds of the country want to know! And here's the doctor's first diagnosis:
Obama fancies himself tribune of the people, spokesman for the grass roots, harbinger of a new kind of politics from below that would upset the established lobbyist special-interest order of Washington. Yet faced with protests from a real grass-roots movement, his party and his supporters called it a mob -- misinformed, misled, irrational, angry, unhinged, bordering on racist. All this while the administration was cutting backroom deals with every manner of special interest -- from drug companies to auto unions to doctors -- in which favors worth billions were quietly and opaquely exchanged.

"Get out of the way" and "don't do a lot of talking," the great bipartisan scolded opponents whom he blamed for creating the "mess" from which he is merely trying to save us. If only they could see. So with boundless confidence in his own persuasiveness, Obama undertook a summer campaign to enlighten the masses by addressing substantive objections to his reforms.

Things got worse still. With answers so slippery and implausible and, well, fishy, he began jeopardizing the most fundamental asset of any new president -- trust. You can't say that the system is totally broken and in need of radical reconstruction, but nothing will change for you; that Medicare is bankrupting the country, but $500 billion in cuts will have no effect on care; that you will expand coverage while reducing deficits -- and not inspire incredulity and mistrust. When ordinary citizens understand they are being played for fools, they bristle.

After a disastrous summer -- mistaking his mandate, believing his press, centralizing power, governing left, disdaining citizens for (of all things) organizing -- Obama is in trouble.

Let's be clear: This is a fall, not a collapse. He's not been repudiated or even defeated. He will likely regroup and pass some version of health insurance reform that will restore some of his clout and popularity.

Now here's how the doctor answers his own question:

But what has occurred -- irreversibly -- is this: He's become ordinary. The spell is broken. The charismatic conjurer of 2008 has shed his magic. He's regressed to the mean, tellingly expressed in poll numbers hovering at 50 percent.

For a man who only recently bred a cult, ordinariness is a great burden, and for his acolytes, a crushing disappointment. Obama has become a politician like others. And like other flailing presidents, he will try to salvage a cherished reform -- and his own standing -- with yet another prime-time speech.

But for the first time since election night in Grant Park, he will appear in the most unfamiliar of guises -- mere mortal, a treacherous transformation to which a man of Obama's supreme self-regard may never adapt.

I don't hear or read Krauthammer very often. But this one is definitely a good read!

1600's a joke

I got the following excerpt from here, hat-tip to instapundit:
1600's a joke

I'm a commie, so I don't get no respect
You'd think the hammer and the sickle don't intersect
Karl Marx, you know that dude was Number 1
Even though he was so pale, never saw the sun
No sunblock, just the Eastern Bloc and
Hatin' capitalists, tried to kick their jock in
I need to be in the White House schemin'
Care about your liberty? Man, just keep dreamin'

I call ya racist 'cause the race card's quicker
Than goin' back and forth, you white folks like to bicker
The reason why I say that is you always whine and plead
Workin' on my nerves until I'm just like, "Cracka, please!"
Hey Chairman Mao, we need ya now
Why buy the milk when you can nationalize the cow?
You better wake up and smell the state vodka
Treat Van Jones with respect, you cockblocka!

Not a morning starter, but, hey, it's a sign of the times we are in now. By the way, if you don't know who Van Jones is, you are a poor mis-informed soul. Take a look at this from Power Line. Sadly for America, Jones is just one of the many commie lunatics Obama surrounds himself with:

Update: Van Jones resigned.

Salute to Bishop Joseph F. Martino

One of the news I read this morning is that the Bishop of Scranton, Pa. resigned at age 63 citing poor health. I find the news unsettling. No bishop would resign at age 63 no matter what kind of health he's in. There must be news behind this news.

Sure enough, I only need to go to to get my answer:
The big news of the day in Catholic America was the resignation of Bishop Joseph F. Martino of Scranton, Pa. This is not ordinarily a diocese that attracts national attention, but Martino had managed to change that with his sharp criticism of his diocese's most famous son, Vice President Joe Biden, as well as various local Catholic institutions, primarily over the abortion issue.
So he was basically being pushed out. In the news conference Bishop Martin said: "As the song says, you have to know when to hold them and when to fold them. And I think it's time to move on."

I think Deacon Keith Fornier of Catholic Online puts it best:
This heroic man stood up against the “gates of hell”, doing what all Bishops are supposed to do, guarding the flock of God against the wolves. In an age which Pope Benedict rightly referred to as suffering under the effects of a “dictatorship of relativism”, this fine man insisted that Catholic Universities and institutions stay faithful to the truth. For doing so, some even in the Catholic media sought to paint him as some kind of “zealot” using highly charged words such as ‘right” and “conservative” to paint a caricature of this man far different than what he really is.

It was false reporting, period. They should be ashamed. Bishop Joseph Martino is simply a faithful Catholic Bishop.
And I agree with the Deacon's concluding words: Thank You Bishop Martino for your Fidelity, Sacrificial Service and Courage. I salute the great Bishop Martino for that. In terms of courage, I think Jacqueline L. Salmon of Washington Post gave us something truly cheerful to contemplate:

At the meeting of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops last fall, he called on the bishops to be more punitive against Catholic officials who are "stridently anti-life."

"I cannot have the vice president coming to Scranton and saying he learned his values there when those values are utterly against those of the Catholic Church," Martino said.

He made a rather spectacular appearance at a parish forum last year where members were discussing the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' document on political responsibility. He ordered the discussion closed, telling the group, "No USCCB document is relevant in this diocese. The USCCB doesn't speak for me."
Bishop Joseph F. Martin, my kind of hero! "So humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time." (1 Peter5:6).

Thinking about those different kind of Catholics that do not agree with Bishop Martin, the lasting words of another great American, the late Senator Barry Goldwater come to mind: Extremism in the defend of liberty is no vice; moderation in the pursue of justice is no virtue.

In the homely during the daily mass at St. Ann's Basilica in Scranton, Pa. this morning, Father Edward Buchheit, C.P. told one particular sign he saw at the 400 thousand strong March for Life he attended in Washington D.C. in January this year that says:
Mom has cancer when pregnant
Doctors say terminate
Today Mom is doing fine
I am 10 years old
What a lovely sign and what a wonderful story!
